Happening This Week #4: Mixed Events
As you may or may not know, the F.I.B hosts events all of the time. The Events Team is responsible for most of these events, and this time, they conducted mixed events where a lot of different games are played. This week, Azza interviews Paletteees, CoolFunnyJames, Aqsry and well…herself. The interviews discuss changes and situations that may happen during events, how people win events, some good strategies and overall thoughts of the events. Check out what everyone had to say below:
EVENT PLANNER
Tell me about a time you had to deal with a last-minute change or unexpected situation when planning this event.
Paletteees: It was quite challenging for me because I had to setup everything last minute and the event was 10 minutes late.
What is your vision or goals for the event and what are the contingency plans if something goes wrong?
Paletteees: I wanted it to be perfect, but it was not really perfect. I would ask them to go to another room, and I’ll make some simple games like bingo, falling furni, and more.
How do you assess the success of each your events?
Paletteees: Like, I tried asking people from the base to go to the event and like it kind of didn’t work, but Gian decided to help me! And it turned out quite well.
WINNERS
How do you feel after beating all of the event's participants and come in as the first place?
CoolFunnyJames: I mean I can't say I “beat” them in the event, it was a matter of luck and speed, Bingo can be your worst AND your Best Friend.
Aqsry: Personally, it's not all about winning, it's about the contestants and the type of bond we all had while competing which made me feel happy.
What are your strategies and tips to master at such games?
CoolFunnyJames: There wasn't any “strategy” per say, but rather being clever. Sure, you can never predict what you might get during Bingo, but you can be prepared. Personally, I type the word Bingo ahead of time, and, just in case, I click on the die as much as I physically could, while checking if I got the number I wanted.
Aqsry: Most games are all about luck. However, some games come with practice from all the years I spent joining events in and out of F.I.B.
What are your hopes for ET's future events?
CoolFunnyJames: If I were to suggest an event, I would recommend MC aka Melting Carpet.
Aqsry: In the future, I hope that more F.I.B members join in with the fun experience and make new friends and memories!
FEEDBACK
What are your thoughts on the event? Was the event better, worse, or about what you expected?
Azza: I wouldn't say worse, but it's not really what I expected because fewer people were participating in them.
How would you rate the event's organization?
Azza: On a scale from 1-10, I'd say it's 7? Slightly above average.
Which game did you like the most from the event?
Azza: CC (Cozy Change), because it was fun looking at them dressing up and play with their imagination to create an outfit according to the theme!
Overall, how satisfied were you with the event?
Azza: The event was okay, but I hope that there are more people that would participate so that it's more rousing.
Thank you so much for reading this interview, and we hope to see you back next week. Make sure you participate in next week’s events as well!
