Over the past couple weeks, F.I.B has gotten three new 1iC members to help run base whenever necessary. The first two 1iC members, xxBrie and Sarah-, were introduced on the 17th of June 2018, while our final member of the 1iC division was introduced on the 2nd of July 2018. Why don't we get to know their journey of becoming a 1iC member? Come and join us in an exclusive interview with the three members!
How did you feel when you realized that you got the promotion to 1iC?
Jacks: I was so happy and excited to get that promotion. I didn't think I could get the promotion.
Sarah-: I was happy that I was given the chance to show of my abilities and help when needed.
xxBrie: I left FIB as a 1iC and I returned as a 4iC, so there are a lot of feelings involved. First of all, I finally felt relieved because my FIB career has been building up to the very moment I become a 1iC again. The workload of being Editor-in-Chief and (former) Disciplinary Director has paid off and rewarded me with the position of 1iC. Secondly, I am more than grateful to know that my higher ups and the whole F.I.B trust my expertise to try and make the agency a better place for everyone.
Did you think that you were ever going to make it this high in ranks, and what were some difficulties faced during this journey?
Jacks: I'm sure I can make it, but of course, you need hard work for it because higher ranks mean higher responsibilities. I will face new things to do and more responsibilities for this.
Sarah-: Hopefully would reach it one day but I wasn't sure when! No real difficulties though.
xxBrie: Like I've stated earlier, I returned as a 4iC and I was still studying as a junior in high school. Having reality conflict with this game is more than difficult enough, especially if you're aiming for the best grades attainable. Another difficulty I've experienced was becoming an Editor-in-Chief as a 3iC and later Disciplinary Director. This meant a lot of expectations, but hopefully, I able to live through those expectations and inspire everyone else to work just as hard.
What is your advice for your fellow workers that are trying to push through the ranks?
Jacks: Never give up to be a higher rank, because it isn't hard. Give the best for you and big effort; you will get it. You can do things like being active, have good attitude, and be a good role model.
Sarah-: Continue to work hard. Hard work and dedication is what it takes to make it into the high ranks, along with passion for the job!
xxBrie: Hard work gets you anywhere. This is not just applied to FIB, but to life in general. I like to think that working in FIB can help me practice skills which I can use in my day-to-day life, so working hard here can help me work hard in the real world.
